Argh! Is it some Mateys' Birthday?

I know, where has the time gone.  I swear I was just bringing these guys home from the hospital, then I blinked and they're 3!  So of course we have to have a party.  Austin's recent fascination with "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" necessitated a pirate theme.  Kadence was fine with that as long as it was pink.  She is such a little girly girl.  I'm not sure where she came from or what I'm going to do with her.

I made Austin a pirate ship cake.
Kadence got her pink cake.
The party started off by coloring Captain Hook's Pirate Ship.

  And getting pirate tattoos.

Then the kids practiced their sword fighting skills on balloons hanging from the deck.

And what do we see?  Captain Hook's Pirate ship off the port side.  All the pirates-in-training had to cannon ball (water balloon) the Captain's ship.

Then they commandeered it.

And went for a ride in it down the hill.

Once they got rid of Captain Hook, they could go on a treasure hunt for his gold dubloons (like an Easter Egg hunt for this age)

Then they had to find the treasure chest and break it open (pinata).

That made all our little pirates very hungry.  They feasted on peg legs (corn dogs), fish in the sea (swedish fish in blue jello), fish and chips (gold fish crackers and potato chips), pirate bananas, and grapes.

Make a wish!

The next day I came in and found Austin and Kadence feeding each other frosting from what was left of Kadence's cake.

Apparently I had been out of the room for quite a while.

A great birthday for our little ones!
