Austin 1 1/2 Years Old

No, those aren't the same bruises that he had in his 1 yr old pictures.  He's had 514 since then.

Snow Day!

It was a little bit of a stretch for the schools to call a snow day, but since we haven't had any this year, (or any snow to speak of) we'll take it.  We went out yesterday afternoon for the first sledding adventure.

It's a good thing Kadence and Austin have a big brother(s).  Mom would never know that 1 1/2 year-olds can sled down a steep hill by themselves if Bryson hadn't proved it.

Ok, so Kadence didn't like sledding down the hill by herself.  She gets so nervous about anything that causes her to feel like she doesn't have control or that she is falling.  Sledding does both.
Bryson exercised the tree swing, as well.
Kadence was much more comfortable on Mom's lap.  I'm just glad my butt fit in the sled after having twins.  Yay!
This morning we headed back out.
Kadence was ok going down in a sled with Austin.
Or all together with Bryson
Then Kadence supervised Mom building snow men while Austin wandered around getting into trouble.  That boy just won't sit still.
The snowman's all done.
Austin helped put the nose back on.
Snowmen. Snowbabies.
After being outside for an hour and a half, you would think everyone would be cold and wet and ready to go inside.  Oh, no.  You should have heard the screams as I dragged them into the house and took off their snow gear.  They were not done playing in the snow.

Later this evening, Bryson and some friends went tubing at the High School.  In true Bryson fashion he had to build a big jump near the bottom of the hill.
Sometimes he didn't quite make it.

Happy Snow Day!

I dare you to take a bad picture of this kid

Strike a pose!  As opposed to her twin brother, every picture of Kadence turns out fantastic.  What a cutie!

Did I mention he climbs?

On the couch...
The back of the chair...
The boys' computer desk...
And that's just in one day!

The Babies' New Past Time

I have been encouraging the babies to climb the stairs for months now so I don't have to carry two squirming babies up and down the stairs.  When Kadence just learned to climb the stairs, she would climb to the landing, pick up a flip-flop and make the final ascent to the upstairs with flip-flop in hand.  Thunk!  Thunk!  Thunk!  Good luck finding a complete pair when you needed to run out quickly.  She has moved on from those early stair climbing days and now the babies have developed a low tolerance for shoes on the landing at all.  If left to their own devices, they throw all the shoes down the stairs.  If they don't make it all the way to the bottom in one throw, they go down the stairs clearing them one by one.

Every day.
